Treasure Valley Home Prices Soar

Local home prices surge to new highs as spring selling season kicks into high gear.

The median price for a single-family home in Boise jumped 18.15 percent to a new high of $324,900 in April. That is an increase of $6,000 from the previous record set just last month.

Home prices in Canyon County rose to a new record $248,500 - pushing prices up 18.96 over the last twelve months. The cost of the typical house in Nampa jumped 19.19 percent to $250,990, crossing the $250,000 mark for the first time.

Even in places like Emmett with its 23-mile commute to Boise, once considered too far for many buyers, demand has pushed prices up over 24 percent this year.

Boise-Area Home Prices Hit Another High, Signaling a Tough Start to Spring Buying Season

Twelve months after crossing the $300,000 mark for the first time, Boise area home prices rose nearly 10 percent in March.

The median single-family home price in Ada County increased to $336,126 setting a new record. Up 9.36 percent or $28,680 from the year prior.

Local homebuyers purchased 836 homes last month with area listings taking 24 days to sell, or 9 days faster than last month.

For the first three months of 2019, total home sales are on par with what we saw at the same time last year.

The cost of the typical house in Boise rose to $318,900, also setting a new record. This eclipses the previous median home price high set just last month.

Boise Home Buyers Are Out in Force; Prices Hit New Highs

Traffic was brisk at a recent open house in Northwest Boise. All told, 32 groups of potential home buyers made their way through the new listing in less than three hours.

Despite an ever-increasing supply of homes for sale, prices remain stubbornly high.
