Located West of Boise, lays Idaho's 3rd largest city, Meridian. Originally established in 1891 on what started as a family farm, Meridian quickly grew and became a large farming community and became incorporated in 1903. Meridian real estate experienced explosive growth during the 2000s, with many former farm fields transforming into some of the most popular cities in Idaho. In 2000, Meridian's modest population of 37,000 bloomed into 83,500 residents as of 2013. Meridian is home to Idaho's largest school district, the West Ada School District. Student enrollment for 2014 was approximately 37,000 students. The West Ada School District is home to 31 elementary schools, eight middle schools, and 11 high schools. With more planned in the future as development in the area continues.

The Village at Meridian is an upscale open-air shopping destination that opened in late 2013. The Village is made up of retail stores, fine restaurants, a movie theater, arcade/bowling, and an outdoor ice rink during the winter months. The signature architectural feature is a magnificent fountain with an hourly display of lights and music.
Meridian Speedway has served as an entertainment destination for locals and visitors for many years. The Meridian Speedway is host to many racing events throughout the season. Eagle Island State Park is located approximately ten minutes north of Meridian and is home to a lake with summer activities, including fishing, swimming, hiking trails, and of course, a water slide.
The city’s Parks and Rec Department manages 19 public parks throughout Meridian. Parks include Meridian Settlers Regional Park, which hosts free outdoor movies during the summer months. Yearly from May to September, the Meridian Urban Market or MUM, can’t be missed. Downtown Meridian transforms into a farmer’s market featuring everything from food to live music and wine tastings.
