Your Guide to Boise's Farmers Markets

When the snow starts to melt on the foothills and the ice turns to spring rain, signs of warmer months ahead pop up everywhere: tulips, cherry blossoms, green grass, and of course, farmers markets. There’s nothing that says “spring is here!” more than a lineup of booths and tents stocked to the gills with fresh local produce, handcrafted art, and more. In Boise, we’re lucky enough to have several local farmers markets to choose from within our city, and even more around the Treasure Valley. Here’s your guide to Boise's farmers' markets.

Founded in 2013 by 25 innovative local food vendors, the Boise Farmers Market is a food-centric weekly attraction from April through October, with an indoor winter market during November and December. The Boise Farmers Market is your destination for all things local food, agriculture, and drinks: with a specific mission to support “regenerative, healthy food and agricultural system by operating a vibrant marketplace featuring locally grown and crafted products.”

This market continues to grow in popularity, and in 2019, they’re popping up at a new, bigger location to support their continued expansion. The Boise Farmers Market also goes mobile throughout the summer, bringing fresh produce to parks and public areas and making good food even more accessible to everyone.

Sample wine and beer crafted by area makers, grab a cup of Boise-made coffee, eat a fresh donut or crepe—at the Capital City Public Market, the possibilities are endless.

In November and December, the market moves to the Grove Plaza and features extended hours for their Holiday Market, so you can be sure to pick up a Boise-made gift for everyone on your list.
