A decade ago, Boise, Idaho could have been seen as small potatoes- yes, I know. Since then we’ve seen our area evolve into a place that’s not only livable but has become desirable and for good reason.

Time and time again, Boise tops numerous “Best of” lists. From one of the most livable cities, best places to move, and one of the best places to retire.

Boise is still so young and new—changing almost every day—and I don’t think it’s overstatement to suggest that our town represents everything that remains great about America: potential, youth, natural beauty, quality of life.

Multiple cranes now dot the scene, bringing about exciting new projects. During the recession, like everything else plans and proposals all but ceased to exist. Since then, development has bounced back with a vengeance. In recent years the downtown area has become a hotbed for project proposals and new construction. From new convention spaces to multiple hotels, condos and apartments- there’s a little bit of everything going on. Ann Morrison Park urban park located within the Downtown Boise Area. Ann Morrison Park is a 153-acre park and is situated alongside of the Boise River. During the summertime, the park is the drop off destination for river floaters. Throughout the year the park is host to several events including the popular Boise Balloon Classic in August. Ann Morrison Park is a staple for all things recreation here in Boise offering softball, football, volleyball, tennis and soccer fields, and playground.

The Annual Spring Boise Parade of Homes was recently held in Ada county. Throughout the two week parade, I had the opportunity to tour over 20 of these homes including several new construction homes that were not formally in the parade. A majority of these homes were located in Meridian and Eagle, Idaho with a few extending out to Southeast Boise. I look forward to this event every year, not because I have a chance to tour some of the newest construction available in the Boise market but I get to see firsthand what’s up and coming in regards to Boise interior design and décor.

The Changing Face of Downtown Boise

There’s been exciting news recently about new real estate being built in Downtown Boise. Local officials have expressed the need for both lodging options as well as the need to meet the demand for additional residential units. These new projects range from boutique hotels, condos to work live concept units. Here’s what’s going up in Downtown Boise.

Linen District Apartments - Location, Corner of 14th St and Idaho St. Currently two separate developers are submitting plans to build on the current site of the Watercooler. One project calls for a five-story building with 50 units comprised of one and two bedroom apartments. The other plan proposes 39 units including one and two bedroom apartments and includes live-work apartments.
